KnivExpo is an exhibition where everyone, from beginners to professionals, can meet and share their passion for knives as tools and craftsmanship. Over three days in July, always during week 28, we gather knife makers, blacksmiths, blade makers, knife collectors, craftsmen, and material vendors at the stunning Vadstena Castle.

The decision to host KnivExpo at Vadstena and Vadstena Castle is based on the significant value the location brings. Vadstena Castle provides a unique environment that still allows the exhibition to grow and evolve. KnivExpo is situated in a location with convenient access to a variety of accommodations, including hotels, campgrounds, hostels, and proximity to restaurants and shops. Vadstena is the perfect size, offering beautiful surroundings both in and around the town. For day trips, both Motala and Omberg are within a short distance. While it’s challenging to find a central location for an exhibition in Sweden due to the country’s length, in terms of population density, this is an ideal geographic spot.

It’s also a great advantage that Vadstena is already a tourist destination, drawing visitors beyond just knife enthusiasts who come for the expo.

KnivExpo at Vadstena Castle continues to be a success!

After two years in Vadstena, it’s clear that we made the right choice. Both exhibitors and visitors appreciate the unique atmosphere of the Renaissance castle and the walking distance to the city with its many cafés, restaurants, and shops. Visitors have reported good accommodations in hotels, hostels, private rentals, campgrounds, and motorhome sites, both in Vadstena and nearby towns. While we haven’t heard of anyone using the guest harbor, the option is available, and you can’t stay closer to the expo!

From the very first year, many believed in our choice of location, both exhibitors and visitors alike. This allowed us to expand the expo in 2024. Once again, all tables in the Great Hall were rented out, and the number of exhibitors in the tents in the Courtyard increased significantly. Both years, we had plenty of visitors who came to browse and buy.

In addition to all those who came specifically for the expo, other tourists from near and far, previously unaware of us, visited the castle and then wandered through KnivExpo's exhibition area—many of them making purchases along the way.
